Yep walking is good. Great reminder! I Used to be an athlete then nothing then the occasional workout then nothing. I started walking again once we moved from south Florida (Boca Raton) just north of Miami to Beaverton (Portland) Oregon but then I had some sinus and allergy issues and got sidelined again. Now that it's cold the hills will be more of a challenge BUT the encouragement was needed!
My nearly daily walk is a wonderfully important part of my day. I leave this house about an hour before dinner as a way of transitioning from one part of the day into the night time.
Good reminders! And wow, love that you’ve enjoyed so many books! I used to walk all around wherever I lived, until I moved to a rural area. Now I drive 10 miles to walk neighborhood streets, but it’s worth it. I listen to lots, too. Maybe I’ll get back into books soon. Been listening to the Waking Up app lots lately. I suppose there are books on there, just in different form. Anyway, good one, with good reminders! I will keep going! 😊
Smooth and slick read. Walking is amazing, and hey, if you are into audiobooks. I got one out there. Not like an informational physics book or the rise and fall of a civilization, but ive got some reviews they say inspriing and one person said best audiobook she ever listened to. Anyways, no obligation. just thought to throw it our there. I do the same when I walk...not all the time, but sometimes.
Well, i understood you may have been listening while walking…either way, here is the preface to A Feather in Time. its in both text format and includes the voice over if you choose to listen. (performed by myself) I have the preface, Introduction and the first chapter, all with text/audio. Enjoy (headphones will be welcomed, 9 min into intro- near end of chp 1 (hint hint ;) https://jakeborchardt.substack.com/p/a-feather-in-time-preface-with-audio?r=5b6qoi
Walking has, in many ways, healed my broken heart and opened it to life and sensation again. I used to run, but it is the time spent walking that is of so much value. I like to say that I walked my way through grief, and it is more than just the truth; it has "saved" me.
I can’t live without walking, it’s my refuge, my escape, my was back home to myself.
I completely agree. Walking is often underestimated. But it's the easiest form of exercise to get our adrenaline up.
Great idea, Kevin. Thank for reminding me. 🩷
I needed this nudge. I use to walk for miles and miles each day. After an injury, I stopped. No more. No más. Thanks, Kevin.
You can do it, Luna!! 💪
Thanks!
🙏🙏
Walking is so beneficial for mental, spiritual, and physical reasons. I try to go everyday.

It’s true, Kevin, our bodies were created for movement!
The physics of the human body is built on moving every day. That is why sitting is so damaging. KUTGW!
My nearly daily walk is an important part of my day
I leave the house at the end of my ‘work’ day and just wander.
Often I end up by the nearby creek and just listen. The breeze, the birds, the tide coming or going.
I return refreshed- renewed- ready for the nighttime, and whatever is next

Many of my creative inspirations come during my daily walks. Thanks for this piece, Kevin.
